I spent a long weekend on the Gloucestershire/North Somerset border the other week. Luckily the weather was much better than this!
Gloucester Cathedral.
The cathedral is a magnificent building but alas Gloucester itself looked sady down at heel.
I then went to Westbury Water Garden. A fine example of a Dutch water garden.
I then popped into Newark Park. It's a small National Trust property that just happened to be near my hotel. It's a small property but well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Kentwell
Kentwell Hall in Long Melford Suffolk is a tudor house that was saved in the 70's by the Phillips family.
The house is a work in progress and still needs work but the Phillips have done an admirable job. All though a member of the HHA scheme the house is best visited in one of its recreations when HHA members pay.
