In the footsteps of Caesar

And finally we went to the Colosseum! We'd been walking past it twice a day.

The horses were being fed before there long day started.

We then went to the forum....

And then on to the Capitaline Museums

and a brief stroll around Rome

Rome Day 3 - wandering

And so today 3 of Rome in Black & White.

We decided we'd like to see the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps with slightly fewer people.

And yes I threw 3 coins in the fountain.....

There was a WWF 60th anniversary concert so no one sitting on the steps.

We wandered up the back.

I was well pleased to see a Sardinian Warbler....

We were on our way to the Borghese Gardens  and gardens aren't the best spot for black & white but hey. Your blogger was pleased with his best ever views of Hawfinch.

The gardens were nice to visit and make a nice change from the rush of the city

and so back into town
