And so to the last day in Rome......
We awoke to a massive thunderstorm and heavy rain..... the forecast was poor but we got away with it since it was just dull and cool (positively balmy compared to the snow the UK was suffering.....
Il Gesu I think
Campo De Fiore
We wandered into a decent cafe. It had some locals, always a good sign!
The Piazza Navona, with a lot less people.
The church of San Luigi dei francesi. It has 3 Caravaggio's!!
The Pantheon
Saint Andrea della Valle. Apparently this is the setting for the first act of Tosca!
You wander around a corner and find a piece of Roman Architecture that simply makes you wish to have seen the Rome of the Roman Empire in its glory.
Up to the top of the Victor Emanuelle monument. Well worth the 7 euros
Yup we were up there!
We must have walked a minimum of 5 miles per day so rather than walk to the Termini and get a bus to the airport we got a taxi at a cost of 15 euros each.
Fabulous break and thank sto Trish for a fabo time.

Never was walking so enjoyable with constant jaw-dropping architecture. Rome lends itself so well to B&W....
