St Mary's Church, Great Bardfield

One of my hobbies involves visiting old churches. Someone commented on my regular blog that churches would work well in B&W so a little experiment today.

My chosen church was St Mary's at Great Bardfield in Essex. Great Bardfield is a pretty little North Essex village, the type that non natives assume Essex doesn't have.

I think we can agree that stained glass looks better in colour!

St Mary's is very unusual in having a stone rood screen (although just down the road there is another church with a stone rood screen at Stebbing).

Again all pictures with a Panasonic GF1 with a 20mm f1.7 lens, although I should have swapped to the 14mm f2.5 at one point (which I had left in the car!!).
