On a Sunday in season the coast road is closed allowing a number of craft and food stalls to operate. It is rather nice.

I recently spent 5 nights in Guernsey. These are from the West Coast.

There are lots of fortifications the above is the L'Eree battery (Napoleonic) below is Fort Saumarez is a Napoleonic martello tower made into a 4 story observation tower by occupying German forces in WWII

Burano

Here are a few pictures from the lovely island of Burano.... for anyone going to Venice I recommend going out to the islands.... A day at Burano, its sister island Mazzorbo (linked by a wooden bridge, worth getting off the boat at Mazzorbo and walking to Burano) and Torcello (to come later) are well worth it.
